TORGBOR MENSAH – PRESIDENT

Founder, DDP Outdoor Limited and Executive Chairman, Great Argon Holdings Limited

Torgbor Mensah is a graphic designer by profession, an entrepreneur with over 35 years experience in the advertising sector and Chairman of the Outdoor Sector of the Advertising Association of Ghana.

He is the originator of the Ghana International Furniture and Wood Working Industry Exhibition (GIFEX Exhibition) and has over 20 years experience in International Exhibitions. He has been the official overseas exhibition builder and decorator for Ghana since 1976. He has been part of Ghanaian Trade Missions to several countries and has served on the board of several national and private institutions.

Torgbor Mensah is Executive Chairman of The Great Argon Holdings, the largest Integrated Marketing Communications Group in Ghana. He has several other business interests such as Digital Printing and Real Estate and has won numerous accolades and recognition for his entrepreneurship.

He is the founder of DDP Outdoor Limited, Ghana’s biggest outdoor advertising company with affiliations  in Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, Chad, Niger, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa.

He has a passion for social work and has been a member of many community development boards.

KOFI ANYINAM-BOATENG – TREASURER

 Mr. Kofi Anyinam-Boateng, Chief Executive Officer.

Kofi is a passionate and astute individual who is interested in developing brands in Ghana and the West Africa sub region. He pays keen attention to details which, he believes, produces the perfect execution of communication projects.

He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of mediaLynx Advertising Limited and has been instrumental in the success of the company from its inception spanning a period of 26 years, growing clientele base and managing talents to excel and bring out their best. He has received umpteen client applauds for his entrepreneurship, managerial skills and understanding of the Ghanaian brand.

He worked with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) at the Accounts Department prior to venturing into entrepreneurship in the advertising industry. He has successfully handled many rebranding projects in Ghana and the West Africa sub-region.

Kofi has accumulated considerable academic laurels spanning from Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resource, Management, Ministries and Theology.

JOEL E. NETTEY – IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT

Joel Nettey is the President of the Advertising Association of Ghana and Vice President – External Communications, International Advertising Association.

He serves as the Chief Executive Officer at ReZultz Advertising, Touchpoint, Brand Alert Limited, and Innova DDB.

Prior to setting up these marketing communications agencies, he was Co-founder, Shareholder, Director and Chief Executive Officer at Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, and three other specialist marketing and marketing communications companies in Ghana.

Joel was also a founding partner at Origin8 Publics and AdSpace DDB.

He serves as a Director of Multimedia Group Limited and is a member of the Board of Directors at Stillwater Equity Partners Limited. He is one of the leading thought leaders of Ghana on marketing, communications, and branding.

Joel is a pioneer of Ghana’s marketing communication industry and was recognized by Forbes in 2010 under the 40 Young Achievers Under 30 Years. He is a savvy and well-acclaimed management, marketing, and marketing communications professional.

Joel Nettey holds Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Psychology degrees from the University of Ghana.

NASH MIKE FENUKU – MEMBER

Chairman – AAG Membership Committee

A Graduate of National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) and a Certified Advertising and Marketing Practitioner, with over 25 years of service in the industry.

Popularly known as Nash, he is an accomplished cinematographer, photographer, film producer/director and has produced over 100 television commercials, documentaries and radio ads for the industry, many of which have won awards. He has also created advertising campaigns for several brands, notably Fan Milk brands.

Nash has been actively involved in the activities of the Advertising Association of Ghana and is currently the Chairman of the Membership Committee.

ORLANDO BAETA – MEMBER

Chairman – Welfare Committee

A founding member of the Advertising Association of Ghana, Orlando Baeta, CEO of IMPACT is a well-known Entrepreneur and Businessman with over 33 years’ hands on experience in advertising and visual mass communication.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, and has developed several innovative visual advertising systems including, but not limited to; System design and implementation of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly directional signs scheme in (1991); System Design and Implementation of the Sponsored Street Naming Scheme for urban areas (1992); System Design and Implementation of the Sponsored Information Signs Scheme (2004); Introduction of the first Mobile Video Billboard in Ghana (2006)

Orlando has served on all executive councils of the AAG since its inception to date and is currently a Commissioner of the National Media Commission, representing the Advertising industry.

AKUA OWUSU-NARTEY – MEMBER

Chairperson – Knowledge and Talent Committee

Akua Owusu-Nartey is the Regional Managing Director of Ogilvy Africa Group. Prior to joining Ogilvy, Akua was General Manager, Publicis West Africa, where she steered the delivery of creative solutions to a wide berth of clients across West and Central Africa.

She has been a marketer, a strategic thinker and a business leader driving change and has been responsible for Ogilvy Ghana and its revenue targets since March 2016. She is known for her strength in integrated communications, and more so, her passion for the development of creative professionals in Ghana.

KEN FIANOO – MEMBER

Ken Fianoo is the Chief Executive Officer of EXPIGA Publicity Limited; with over 32 years practice in the Out-of-Home Advertising Industry.

Ken holds a Diploma in Painting and Decoration but started his career as a Sign Writer with Industrial and Commercial Art Services (INCAS) and later trained as a Graphic Artist.

He established EXPIGA in August 1986 and for many years, served as a Council member of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG). He also served as Treasurer of the Association from 2002 – 2005.

He has offered himself in supporting several Social and Religious causes and related events.

Ken Fianoo is currently the Chairman of the Church of Christ Media Ministry.

ALEX KWADWO BOATENG, APR – MEMBER

Alex is the Chief Executive Officer of ADLINES CONSULT LIMITED, advertising, public relations, event management, marketing and printing firm in Accra.

He is a career advertising, public relations and marketing professional and practitioner for over two decades following his Post-graduate education at the School of Communication Studies, University of Ghana, Legon in 1993.

He is an Executive Council Member of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) and was Chairman of the Association’s Education and Talent Development Committee from 2012 – 2018.

Alex is also an Accredited Member (APR) of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana and has been Executive Council Member and the Chairman for the Institute’s Consultancy Committee from 2004 to 2014. Prior to becoming Council Member, Alex had served as Honorary Secretary of IPR, Ghana for two consecutive terms of two years each plus an additional one year in office from 2004 to 2009 during the tenure of Hon. Kojo Yankah as its President.

He was also the Chairman of the 2007 Federation of Africa Public Relations Associations (FAPRA), now Africa Public Relations Associations (APRA) Conference Planning Committee which event successfully took place in Kumasi in Ghana with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as Special Guest of Honour.

He is currently a Board Member of the New Times Corporation. From 2014 to 2016, Alex served as a Board Member of Road Safety Management Services Limited and Chairman of the Board’s Sub-Committee on Governance.

He has been an Adjunct Lecturer in Advertising at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) degree programme from the 2003/2004 academic year to 2012/2013 academic year and has also been a resource person for IPR, Ghana and the AAG.

Alex holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA, Marketing Option) Degree from the University of Ghana Business School, a Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies from the School of Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Philosophy and Religions, all from the University of Ghana.

BISMARCK EMMANUEL BADU – MEMBER

Bismarck Badu is a Chartered Management Accountant by profession with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom. He holds Masters of Science Degree in Accounting and Financing from London Southbank University. Mr. Badu is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK and recently completed an Executive Master of Arts Degree in Conflict, Peace and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.

Mr. Badu is a seasoned businessman with an extensive management experience spanning over twenty (20) years from the United Kingdome to the West Coast of Africa. He is the Director of several Companies including Tikowrie Capital limited, Kaat Services Limited and Jinmark Ghana Limited and he is a Board Member of Graphic Communication Group Limited at present.

Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Supreme Concept Company Limited, an Advertising, Printing and Marketing Research Company which, he successfully built from scratch to become one of the leading advertising companies in Ghana with several awards to their name.Mr. Badu’s experience of working abroad saw him working with institutions like the Public Trust Office in London, DPP Group International, and Five Anchors Group Limited. His managerial experience was reinforced when he was the Head of Operation at Afrimedia International Limited – a subsidiary of Graphic Communication Group Limited and publishers of the West African Magazine, a renowned Pan African magazine which was an authoritative paper on African Affairs and widely read across the globe. He was instrumental in the setting up of Bureau Offices along the West Coast of Africa to increase the visibility and circulation of the paper in especially West African Sub-region

BRIGHT LADZEKPO – MEMBER

Bright Ladzekpo is CEO of PHD Media Ghana, the fastest growing media agency in Ghana currently according to the globally acclaimed Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency industry, RECMA. 

He provides consultancy in media and marketing communications to global and local brands in Ghana and Nigeria and has over 19years’ professional experience in advertising and media agency management.  

He has worked, over the years, with several marketing directors, brand managers, to develop and implement media strategies for blue-chip brands across Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals, Foods, Personal Care, Beverages, Air Travel, Education and Non-profit categories.

Bright has also worked with the leadership and client account teams at the head office offices of the global media agency network, PHD Worldwide in London, as the first winner of its global exchange programme from Africa. He led the PHD Ghana team to break into the top 10 ranking the global leaderboard of the agency’s live collaborative media planning operating system, SOURCE. 

He trained as a biochemist but followed his natural talent into the advertising fraternity having written, produced and presented on both national and campus radio and TV shows since age19, whiles at Adisadel College through his university education at the Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.

Bright is a thought leader in the marketing communications industry and is passionate about trend-spotting, path-finding and innovating with media for effective brand-building. He was a speaker during the Innovation Session at the 2016 edition of TEDx Accra’s Media, Arts and Entertainment Master class.   

ANDREW ACKAH – MEMBER

Andrew Ackah was appointed CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) Ghana in August 2015.

There are four businesses under DAN Ghana currently; Carat and Vizeum, which are media specialist agencies, iPropspect, the digital performance agency and Posterscope, the out-of-home and location expert agency.

Prior to his appointment, he had been the General Manager of MediaCom, the first independent media agency in Ghana for 8 years that witnessed very impressive business growth and client acquisition.

His work experience spans Media Research & Insight to Media Strategy & Planning, Communication Management and Business Development & Leadership.

Andrew has 14 years industry experience and has valuable media knowledge in Africa especially West Africa, supervising subsidiary businesses in Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo and Benin and Zambia in the past. His proven ability to foster and nurture relationships with both clients and media suppliers has accentuated several mutual successes.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology – Kumasi, Ghana and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana.

He is a council member of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG).

FRANCIS DADZIE

Executive Director, Advertising Association of Ghana

Francis Dadzie has served in varied business leadership roles in Television, Hospitality, Real Estate and Advertising for several decades. He has been at the helm of affairs as the Executive Director of the Advertising Association of Ghana since 1999, leading policy formulation, management, training and offering advisory services in the interest of Ghana’s advertising industry.

He is credited with transforming the Advertising Association of Ghana from a trade association to a professional body. One of his most recent initiatives is the development of a single policy document on Out of Home Advertising Standards by the Ghana Standards Authority.

He has been championing Ghana’s advertising industry’s call for regulation for the past 6 years, which has culminated in the formulation of an Advertising Council Bill which is presently tabled before cabinet.

Francis has an unrivaled depth of expertise in broadcast media that spans almost 3 decades. He is one of the pioneering management team of Ghana’s first online television, GhanaNet TV, and has served in various capacities at the national broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, developing and managing profitable media products, and restructuring successful operations across the country.

He served as a broadcasting media consultant to the Ghana government during the country’s golden jubilee independence anniversary celebration in 2007 and as hospitality consultant during the 12th Summit of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XII) hosted in Accra in 2008.

He is a Board Member of the Vice Chancellor’s Education Fund for the University of Professional Studies and Broadcasting Media Adviser for Action Chapel Int.

He is widely recognized for his leadership skills, business ethics, change-agent role and business acumen. In 2015, the India Partnership Summit and Africa Leadership Awards honoured him in Mauritius for his contribution to the growth of the advertising industry in Ghana. 

Francis is the first registered member of the International Advertising Association in Ghana and the Country Representative for the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity.
